According to the reports, the terrorists spared Shubham’s wife and asked her to ‘tell’ the government what they (terrorists) had done to her husband.

Shubham, who got married on February 12 this year, had gone to Kashmir with his wife and other family members. They were scheduled to return to Delhi on Wednesday, the family members said in Kanpur.

Pictures of Shubham’s wedding went viral on social media platforms after the tragic incident.

Shubham’s uncle Manoj Dwivedi said that his nephew had left for Kashmir on April 18.

‘’On Tuesday Shubham and his wife Eshanya left for Pahalgam while his brother, mother and other members of the family stayed back at their hotel at Anantnag,’’ he said.

He said that the Shubham’s wife pleaded with the terrorists to spare her husband but they did not show any mercy. The terrified wife fainted after Shubham was shot dead.

A pall of gloom descended at their ancestral village of Hathipur and a large crowd of the locals gathered there as the news of Shubham’s killing reached there.

The family members said that Shubham’s dead body was expected to reach Kanpur later in the evening.
