According to official sources, the operation targeted key areas, including different blocks and barracks of the district jail in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

The CIK also conducted searches at two other locations in Sonigam and Chawalgam villages of neighbouring Kulgam district, uncovering a range of electronic devices that are suspected to have been used for illicit communications and activities.

Technical evidence was discovered within the District Jail Anantnag premises, specifically related to communications and interactions that may be linked to militant activities, sources said.

The raids are part of an ongoing effort by security agencies to curb the use of technology for unlawful purposes, including militancy-related activities.

The authorities have not yet made public the exact number of devices recovered or the individuals involved, but investigations are ongoing.

The raids were extended to Udhampur district in Jammu region, where joint searches were conducted in collaboration with the local police.

The CIK has intensified operations in recent months as part of a broader strategy to dismantle networks operating in J&K.

Post Article 370, the security agencies, including National Investigation Agency (NIA) and CIK in Kashmir have launched a continuous operation against militants and those involved in narcotics smuggling from across the border.
