A woman reached Bhawan of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine with a pistol, breaching security checks, SSP Reasi Parminder Singh said as per ANI.
The incident took place on the intervening night of March 14-15, 2025.
The woman has been identified as Jyoti Gupta, who is said to be working in Delhi Police. The weapon had an expired licence.
Reasi Police arrested the woman, and the weapon was seized.
A FIR has been registered at Police Station Bhawan in Katra, and a case registered under Arms Act, Singh said.
