Manvendra Singh, son of former Union minister Jaswant Singh, is all set to hold a rally in Pachpadra in Barmer on Saturday.
Manvendra's announcement of the Swabhiman rally (Rally for self respect) has fueled speculation that he may quit the BJP.
He is presently a sitting BJP MLA from Sheo.
Manvendra has had strained relations with the party since 2014 after his father Jaswant Singh was denied a Lok Sabha ticket from Barmer.
Manvendra, who had earlier skipped Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje's Gaurav Yatra in Barmer and Pachpadra, said whether he will stay with the BJP or not will depend on the response of crowd attending his rally.
"I am overwhelmed with the response from different communities. This rally is to safegaurd the dignity of people and communities. Lakhs of people from all castes and communities will be attending the rally on Saturday", Manvendra told DH.
However, he remained mum on the speculations of forming a new party or joining the Congress.
Interestingly, the posters and pamphlets distributed ahead of his rally have huge pictures of Jaswant Singh, urging people to reach in numbers to Pachpadra (venue), for their ‘swabhiman’ (self respect).
Moreover, old video clips of Jaswant Singh calling people to save his 'swabhiman' have also become viral on social media and have a similar message of taking 'revenge for the insult'
Posters also have the poetry of Atal Bihari Vajpayee scribbled all over it.
Manvendra garnered support from all sections in the Marwar region, particularly from the Rajput community, which is currently upset with the ruling BJP.
