Varun Agarwal (27) was arrested on Saturday from the domestic airport in suburban Vile Parle on charges of raping the 22-year-old air hostess who was in a live-in relationship with him.

Varun, who was booked under sections 376 (rape), 420 (cheating), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), was on Sunday produced before the Andheri metropolitan magistrate.

The police sought his custody on the grounds that the investigation is on and medical reports of both the accused and the victim are awaited. The court remanded him in police custody till June 5.

According to the police, the accused, who joined private air carrier Jet Airways in 2006, started luring the victim since 2008, a year after she joined the airline.
