A video doing rounds on social media showing Jharkhand Health Minister Irfan Ansari's teenage son Krish Ansari at a hospital in Ranchi has sparked a row. The reason? The minister's young son was seen inspecting the hospital and talking to patients, asking about whether they were facing any difficulties or not.

Ansari was seen at Ranchi's Paras Hospital and amid the row, the minister defended his son's action, describing it as "act of kindness".

BJP leaders shared the video saying the 'son of Jharkhand's Reel Minister has also started inspecting government hospitals and making reels'.

The Instagram video showed 19-year-old Krish Ansari walking through the hospital premises along with a bodyguard and some of his friends.

He is seen interacting with some of the patients admitted to the hospital and listens to them.

One of his friends is also heard saying, 'Koi taqleef hai to batayiye, mantri ji ke bete aaye hue hain, bade bete' (If there are issues, you can tell, the minister's elder son is here)."

The video sparked sharp criticism from the BJP who questioned what right and authority the teenager had to visit and conduct an 'inspection' at the hospital.

The saffron party's backlash then led to the video being deleted from Ansari's social media handle.

The minister, however, chose to defend his son and posted on X that his son was merely trying to help. "BJP, exercise restraint, Move forward with positive thinking. If you have a fight with us, fight with us. Do not involve family or children. I have given my children good values. Whether it is my son or my worker. They will help humanity. They will ensure people's treatment and save their lives."

Calling Krish “an educated and sensitive young student currently on vacation”, minister spoke about his son's nature: “Krish keeps asking me, ‘Papa, is it a crime to help people?’ This question breaks me from within. My son has not committed any crime, nor has he acted out of arrogance or power. He saw someone in distress and tried to help,” the minister said.

Amid the row, Ansari further appealed for sensitivity in public discourse and urged people to “remove the lens of politics” when assessing the situation.
