A day after 26 people were killed in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir, India on Wednesday put in abeyance its 65-year-old Indus Water Treaty (IWT) with Pakistan, shut down the Integrated Check Post at Attari-Wagah border between the two countries and further curtailed its already downgraded diplomatic ties with Islamabad.

Delhi Police received a call late last night, where a man claimed that he had prior information about the Pahalgam terror attack. On questioning the man, it was found that he had called under the influence of alcohol. After questioning of the man by several agencies, his claim was found to be baseless: Delhi Police (ANI)

"Another special flight has been arranged to bring back Maharashtra citizens from Kashmir. This Air India flight will arrive in Mumbai today carrying 100 tourists from Maharashtra. The list of passengers on this flight is attached.
After the instructions of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, 2 special flights will arrive in Mumbai today. An IndiGo flight will bring back 83 tourists, while an Air India flight will bring back 100, a total of 183 tourists from Maharashtra will return to Mumbai today. Both these flights will arrive in Mumbai around evening. Union Minister Muralidhar Mohol is fully supporting this. "Citizens in mourning over the brutal manner in which terrorists killed innocent people in Pahalgam, country stands with them," the PM said.
"Those behind Pahalgam terror attack and those part of conspiracy will be punished beyond their imagination", he added.
"I say to the whole world India will identify, track, and punish every terrorist and their backers", he said.
"Will pursue them (Pahalgam accused) to end of earth. India's spirit will never be broken by terrorism", he also said.
The PM added "Everyone who believes in humanity is with us; I thank people, leaders of countries who have stood with us." (PTI)

Instead of holding a genuine all-party meeting for a collective consultation in the wake of a major terrorist attack and security failure, the government appears interested in only a selective PR exercise.
In 1984 even the BJP had only two MPs. Keeping small parties, including the party in power in J&K, the National Conference, and parties like the CPI(ML) which are well known for their commitment to Constitutional governance and communal harmony, out of a crucial all-party meeting apparently because of their limited parliamentary strength, only betrays the Modi government's lack of seriousness and readiness to listen to voices from the ground.
In continuation of the decisions made by the Cabinet Committee on Security in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, the Government of India has decided to suspend visa services to Pakistani nationals with immediate effect. All existing valid visas issued by India to Pakistani nationals stand revoked with effect from 27 April 2025.
Medical visas issued to Pakistani nationals will be valid only till 29 April 2025. All Pakistani nationals currently in India must leave India before the expiry of visas, as now amended. Indian nationals are strongly advised to avoid travelling to Pakistan. Those Indian nationals currently in Pakistan are also advised to return to India at the earliest: MEA

Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah said, "We, the participants of the All Party Meeting of Jammu and Kashmir, are deeply shocked and anguished by the barbaric attack on innocent civilians on April 22.
