Over 30 feature and non-feature films, made by filmmakers of Indian origin based all around the globe, were screened at the unique festival aimed at creating a platform for all NRI and PIO filmmakers. Datta’s film was chosen for the top honour by a jury headed by veteran filmmaker Basu Chatterjee. “My film is a small independent venture and this festival was a good platform to reach out to people. This award shows that good work can be done with very little money and resources,” Datta said accepting the award.
The festival was organised jointly by the NRI publication Pravasi Today in collaboration with Mauritius.
