More than 7,400 students appeared for the medical entrance test while just a little over 2,300 students took the dental entrance test. The entrance exam for both the streams went off smoothly but for one instance of impersonation at the M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT). The RGUHS officials said that the impersonator was caught within ten minutes of the test commencing. A case has been registered in Sanjay Nagar Police station.
“The test went off smoothly at all centres with the attendance percentage increasing this year. The number of incidents of malpractice have come down to just one as compared to that of previous years,” University Registrar Dr. Vasanth Kumar told Deccan Herald.

The attendance for the medical test was 95.67 per cent with 339 students being absent, while the attendance percentage for the dental entrance test was 96.36 with 87 students not appearing for the test. The medical test was held across 12 centres in the State while the dental entrance exam was held in six centres. The PGET 2010 was held for the first time in Mangalore, Bellary and Hubli.
