Mysuru: Mysuru-based Sri Bidaram Krishnappa Rama Mandira is hosting its 109th Ramanavami Annual Heritage Music Festival from April 6 to 16 at Ganavisharada Shri Bidaram Krishnappa’s Sri Prasanna Seetarama Mandira on Narayana Shastri Road.
According to the honorary secretary of the mandira, Raghunandan Rao, the 11-day festival will be inaugurated on Sunday at 6 pm by president of the institution Jagannath Shenoy and will feature artists of international repute.
The inaugural concert will be by Vishnudev Namboothiri from Kerala, accompanied by Mysore Srikanth on violin, Arjun Kumar on mridangam and Rajashekar on morsing.
The other concerts will be at 6.30.
On April 7, Sriranjani Santhanagopalan will present a Carnatic vocal concert, accompanied by Charulatha Ramanujam on violin, Delhi Sairam on mridangam and G S Ramanujan on ghatam.
On April 8, Malladi Brothers (Sreeramaprasad and Ravikumar) will present a vocal duet concert, accompanied by Nishanth Chandran on violin, Sreearavind Sarma Malladi on mridangam and Raghunandan Rao on ghatam.
On April 9, an all-women ensemble will perform a veena, venu, violin - J Yoga Vandana (Veena), Smitha Srikiran (flute), and Aditi Krishnaprakash (violin), accompanied by Deepika Srinivasan on mridangam, Latha Ramachar on khanjira and Bhagyalakshmi Krishna on morsing. On April 10, R K Padmanabha will perform a vocal concert, accompanied by H N Bhaskar on violin, Cheluvaraju on mridangam and ASN Swamy on khanjira.
On April 11, N J Nandini from Kerala will perform a vocal concert, accompanied by Jyotsna Srikanth on violin, H S Sudheendra on mridangam and Sreenidhi on ghatam. On April 12, Kunnakudi Balamuralikrishna will present a vocal recital accompanied by Mysore Srikanth on violin, Tumakur B Ravishankar on mridangam and Sharath Koushik on ghatam. On April 13, Abhishek Raghuram will present a vocal concert accompanied by H M Smitha on violin, Arjun Kumar on mridangam and Giridhar Udupa on ghatam.
On April 14, Mysore Brothers Nagaraj and Manjunath will present a violin duet concert accompanied by Neyveli Venkatesh on mridangam and Giridhar Udupa on ghatam. On April 15, Bhargavi Venkatram will present a vocal recital, accompanied by H K Venkatram on violin, Tumakuru B Ravishankar on mridangam and G S Ramanujam on ghatam.
On April 16, there will be a Kathakalakshepa (Harikatha) by Vishaka Hari on Rāma Nee samānamevaru, accompanied by Chinmayi on violin, Vijay Natesan on mridangam and Shamith Gowda on ghatam.
Sri Rama Pattabhisheka will be performed on April 16, Wednesday, from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm. Entry to all concerts is free at 6.30 pm.
