Two boys drowned in Ghataprabha Right Canal near Kunnal in Belgaum taluk Sunday.
The dead are identified as Allappa Ramappa Rabakavi (10) and Vittal Hanumanthappa Thippi (16), both residents of Kunnal.
The two boys headed towards the canal, as it was a holiday.
One of them grew thirsty and walked towards the canal to quench his thirst. He slipped and fell into it. In a bid to save him, the other boy too lost his life, said the police attached to Katakola station.
