Three persons, two of them children, were killed in a head-on collision between a car and a lorry on Satti Road near Chikkahole reservoir on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as car driver Vasantkumar, 30, Pramod, 11, and Girija, 5 – the children of Sudhakar and Soumya from Puducherry.
Sudhakar and his family, who had come to his farmhouse at Kolipalya, were on their way to Mysore, when the lorry heading to Satyamangala from Chamarajanagar collided with their car.
The car driver and the children died on the spot while Sudhakar and Soumya sustained injuries. The couple have been admitted to a hospital in Mysore. The lorry driver is absconding, said the Rural police who have registered a case.
