Honnali (Davangere district): Two Congress workers were stabbed fatally in a group clash between Congress and BJP workers, during victory procession at Honnali in Davangere district on Wednesday.
The BJP workers had organised a bike rally to celebrate the victory of their party candidate M P Renukacharya in the Assembly elections. During the procession, some workers burst crackers in front of the residence of district Congress committee president H B Manjappa. They also threw stones on a commercial complex.
Soon, a verbal duel ensued between Congress and BJP workers and two persons were stabbed in the melee. The injured, Siddesh and Guddajji Raju, have been admitted to a private hospital in Shivamogga. Honnali police have registered a case.
