2 labourers buried alive as earth caves in in Mangaluru, 1 dead

A labourer died after being buried alive under a mound of mud in Kemaje in Panaji village of Mangaluru district on Thursday.

Two labourers in their attempt to mend a chicken waste dumping pipe fell into a pit, eyewitnesses told police officials. Heaps of soil from the area excavated slid into the pit, burying the labourers alive.

The body of the labourer found from the debris was identified as Ravi. The search for another labourer Babu is on, police sources said.

Police registered a case and are investigating.
