Bengaluru: Twenty-one police officers from Karnataka, including two Deputy Inspector Generals of Police (DIGP), have bagged president’s medals presented on the occasion of Republic Day.

Basavaraj Sharanappa Zille, DIGP, Karnataka State Reserve Police, and Hamja Hussain, Commandant, 12th Battalion, KSRP, have been conferred with the President's Medal for distinguished service.

Renuka K Sukumar, DIGP, and Sanjeev M Patil, AIGP, have been honored with the President's medal for meritorious service.

The other officers who have bagged medals for meritorious service are B M Prasad, Veerendra Naik N, Gopal D Jogin, Gopalkrishna B Goudar, H Gurubasavaraj, Jayaraj H, Pradeep B R, Mohammed Mukarram, Vasantha Kumara M A, Manjunath V G, Althaf Hussain N Dhakani, Balendran C, Arun Kumar, Nayaz Anjum, Shrinivasa M, Ashraf P M, and Shivananda B.
