Forest Department officials arrested three persons for trying to sell the antlers of a deer on Thathkola Road in town.

The arrested are Ranjith of Kundooru, Venkatesh and Shivakumar of Balegadde. After poaching a deer, they were attempting to sell the antlers.

In the guise of customers purchasing antlers, the Forest Department officials arrested the two persons. Later, they arrested another from a Khandya in Balehonnur.

Based on a tip-off, the officials conducted the raid. The officials also seized four tiger claws, two pairs of antlers of antelope, two pairs of antlers of deer, one tortoise and a two-wheeler from the arrested.

A case has been registered at Mudigere range of the Forest Department in this connection.
