Three persons were killed on the spot and three others sustained injuries when an SUV collided head-on with a container lorry, turned turtle and hit another lorry near a dhaba on National Highway 13 near Haruvanahalli on Monday morning.
The dead have been identified as Puttannaiah Chauhan, 30, of Gajendragad, Shivu Rathod, 30, and car driver Hanumanthappa Anchinalu, 30, of Ron.
Gajendragad’s Umesh Rathod, 27, Chandra Anchinalu of Ron, 24, and Ibrahim, 24, were injured in the accident, police said.
The accident occurred when the six were returning to Ron in the SUV after visiting Mysore, Mandya and Bengaluru.
The injured have been admitted to Hosapete government hospital for treatment.
The accident has left the SUV totally damaged, they said.
