Muddebihal (Vijayapura District): A three-year-old girl playing outside her house died after falling into a nearby well in Veereshwar Nagar here on Friday afternoon.
When the child did not return indoors well past noon, Harshita’s father Basavaraj Patil and his wife got worried and began a search. On not finding her, the distraught parents approached the police.
In the evening, residents noticed something floating in the well, which they discovered was a child. Fire personnel rushed to the spot. They managed to pull Harshita out, but she had breathed her last.
