3,000 students take part in science expo

Science exhibitions play a pivotal role in eradicating superstitious beliefs among students, said Block Education Officer (BEO) K Jayaraj.

He was speaking at the taluk-level High School Science Exhibition organised at Government Junior College for Boys in Bangarpet on Thursday.

The students should not limit themselves to philosophical knowledge and should actively take part in exhibitions which will widen their practical knowledge, he added.

Students displayed many models depicting ill effects of industrialisation on environment and society, conservation of nature, importance of transport facility, education and technology, community health and others.

The exhibition which started at 10 am went on till 5 pm. As many as 3,000 students from more than 25 schools in the taluk took part in the exhibition. The exhibition was organised by Education Co-ordinator Suresh under the guidance of Devaraj.

Legislator M Narayanaswamy, College Vice-Principal Uma Bharati, senior teachers Somashekar, Sarvat Jahan Begum, physical education Teacher Madialagan and others were present on the occasion.
