39 new faces; snake catcher, notary, sculptor now corporators

In all, 39 new faces both young and old have been elected to Mysore City Corporation (MCC) this time. Among them, 15 are women. M Suneel, a notary has succeeded in his second attempt from ward 10 as a Congress nominee.

Candidates with interesting professions, and also relatives of previous corporators will don the new role of a corporator. S Balasubramanya, popularly known as ‘Snake’ Shyam among Mysoreans for his snake rescue abilities has been elected on a BJP ticket from ward 17.

C Ramesh, a sculptor, also known as Ramani has been elected on a JD(S) ticket from ward 38. R Kamala Udaykumar elected on Congress ticket from ward 50 has taken over from her mother-in-law Mahadevamma. Mahadevamma was representing the same ward in the previous council.
