Mangaluru: The Mangaluru police have registered 40 cases under NDPS act and arrested 67 persons for selling/trafficking narcotic substances during the year from January till date.

Commissioner of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy C H said in the current year, drugs worth Rs 1,36,35,650 have been seized from the accused, including 145 kg 324 gm of ganja, 319.976 gm of MDMA, 13 gm of MDMA pills, 756.52 gm of hydro weed ganja, and various other narcotic substances.

In the jurisdiction of the Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate, special operations are being conducted regularly to prevent the sale/trafficking and consumption of narcotic substances.

Likewise, with regard to the consumption of drugs, 335 cases have been registered against 376 individuals in 2025.

After availing permission from the court, the police destroyed 21 kg 320 gm of ganja and 60 gm of MDMA, at Re Sustainability Healthcare Solutions Ltd in Kolnadu Industrial Area, Mulki, on Thursday. These drugs and substances were seized in 23 cases from nine police stations in the Mangaluru city commissionerate limits, he said.

In fact, on January 15, the police had destroyed 335 kg 460 gm of ganja, 7 kg 640 gm of MDMA, and 16 gm of cocaine.
