50% quota for farmers' children in agriculture varsities: B C Patil

Agriculture universities in Karnataka will henceforth reserve 50% of their seats to farmers' children, instead of the earlier 40%, Agriculture Minister B C Patil said.

The minister recently held a meeting in this regard with agriculture universities. The proposal was later tabled before the Cabinet, which was approved in the Cabinet meeting on Monday.
