The Lokayukta police have completed inquiry into discrepancies in the appointment of assistant public prosecutors (APPs) and will file the charge sheet in the court by next week.

Lokayukta sources said the charge sheet has statements of 94 witnesses including 25 district judges who evaluated the answer papers, invigilators and scientists of the Forensic Science Laboratory.

If the charge sheet is submitted, more than 60 APPs will lose their jobs and may even get arrested, said sources. Some of them have even obtained anticipatory bails. In 2014, 197 APPs were appointed.

Advocate Theerthahalli H T Ravi had complained to the Lokayukta that there were discrepancies in the exams.

The Lokayukta police had registered a case, investigated the matter and taken custody of one Narayanaswamy, who was the administrative officer with the directorate of public prosecution. They had even raided Narayanaswamy's house and seized answer scripts.
