Somwarpet, Kodagu: A 62-year-old man was killed in an elephant attack at Kuppadi haadi in the Yadavanadu reserve forest of Somwarpet taluk in Kodagu district of Karnataka.

The name of the deceased is Girijanara Tammu. His body was found 500 metre from Kuppadi haadi inside the forest. RFO Shailendra confirmed that the person had died in an elephant attack three days ago. The Deputy Supeintendent of Police, Gangadarappa, along with his staff visited the spot for inspection.

Notably, a video clip of a wild elephant chasing a tiger that tried to attack a herd of elephants at Bandipur Tiger Reserve of Gundlupet taluk in the Chamarajanagar district of Karnataka had gone viral on social media on Monday, January 13.
