“There are 96 drop outs from primary schools and 646 drop outs from high schools.
Among the primary school students, majority are migrants,” he informed.
As per the census, there are 2,335 children in 0-3 years age group, 2,442 children in the age group of 3-5 years, 514 children in 5-6 year age group, 5,041 children in 7-10 year age group, 3,719 children in 11-14 year age group in the taluk.
Presently, 11,577 children are getting primary education and 3,949 students are getting high school education.

About 2,599 children are expected to get admission into primary schools in the new academic year, BEO Ramesh said.
