The 93-year old woman is shifted from Kalaburagi Central Jail to her native town of Jewargi on Friday.

Kalaburagi: A 93-year-old woman prisoner lodged in the central prison here was granted three-month parole following the intervention of Upa Lokayukta Justice B Veerappa.

Nagamma Annarao, the elderly woman was unable to walk. Moved by her condition, Justice B Veerappa contacted the Supreme Court registrar urging a review of her sentence.

He also directed the jail superintendent R Anita and Kalaburagi SP Adduru Srinivasalu to take necessary measures for her temporary release on parole. The SP recommended for her release on parole for three months after receiving a report from the Jewargi police station. 

The elderly woman's two daughters had arrived at the prison on Friday to take her home. The prison's chief superintendent R Anita made necessary arrangement to carry her to Jewargi in the prison's ambulance.
