Former minister Kimmane Ratnakar asked BJP to accept either constitution or Chintan Ganga by (M S Golwalker) which is a reflection of the RSS’ aspirations. For, both cannot exist together, he observed.
Addressing press conference, here on Thursday, he said, so far, the BJP has taken a dual stance. Therefore, it is opposing the word secularism in the Constitution.
It does not agree with the reservation provided in the Constitution, he said and asked the BJP to clarify its stand.
He further stated that the Congress creates an atmosphere of co-existence with a desire to build a pluralistic India that includes people of all castes and religions. This is the basic principle of the party. However, the BJP is going against this. The purpose, administration and economic policy of the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to make the rich very rich and the poor, destitute. The Congress opposes this, he added.
Hierarchical society
He also demanded that there should be no feeling of superiority or inferiority among people. But the BJP is defending a hierarchical society causing a rift.
Ambedkar’s Constitutional aspirations were different. The propositions of Gandhi, Ambedkar, Swami Vivekananda and Nehru are socialist and secular. However, the BJP and the Sangh Parivar are against these aspirations. Besides, the thoughts of Hedgewar, Golwalkar, Savarkar, Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse were also different.
District Congress Committee president R Prasanna Kumar, South Block Congress president Kalim Pasha and others were present.
