According to a press release, 39 retired employees were given Accident Free Service Award. They belong to Station Master, Points man and Loco Pilot categories. S K Raina, Divisional Railway Manager, Palakkad presided over the function and distributed the cash award and merit certificates to the employees. Dr K Mahalingam, Chief Medical Superintendent, Railway Hospital Palakkad distributed mementos to the awardees. A sum of Rs 8,24,655 was distributed as cash award.
