Belagavi: Tourism, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H K Patil said that along with police officials, action has been taken against all those responsible for the stampede in which 11 persons lost their lives at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru during the victory celebrations of Royal Challengers, Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL.
Patil told reporters here on Friday that government has taken necessary action against those responsible for the lapses in which 11 persons lost their lives in the stampede.
Along with suspension of police officials, RCB team management, KSCA and event management company has been booked and police have directed to arrest those responsible.
"Government has formed one man commission for probing the incident. Truth of the matter will be revealed. As the probe is in progress, I shall not speak about it," he said.
Reacting to a query on stampedes not taking place during various victory processions in Mumbai and Hyderabad, Patil said, we cannot compare Bengaluru with other cities, but the incident in state capital should not have taken place.
Regarding BJP demanding resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, he said, after the incident the chief minister immediately rushed to the hospital to inquire the health of the injured and
Patil also said that though BJP is demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, both of them rushed to hospital to inquire regarding the health of the people. Deputy chief minister even consoled the families who had lost their loved ones in stampede.
