Social activist Snehamaayi Krishna has appealed to the Lokayukta Police, in Mysuru, to register another case against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and others, in the alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam, on the basis of the letter written by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to the Lokayukta, on the issue.
Krishna visited the office of Lokayukta in Mysuru on Thursday and submitted another petition, urging to file a new complaint under the Money Laundering Act, based on the ED’s letter.
Krishna cited a direction, in the Supreme Court judgement in the ‘Vijay Madanlal Choudhury and Others against Union of India’ case, which states that a new case can be filed, even though there is another case pending, as the ED has given a detailed account. He has also attached a copy of the Supreme Court order, in this regard.
He said, "Following the ED's investigation into the alleged MUDA scandal, involving money laundering and other offences, a letter has been sent to Mysuru Lokayukta Police, highlighting certain findings by the EC. Based on this letter, the Lokayukta Police should file another complaint and conduct an inquiry against Siddaramaiah and other accused”.
