Mangaluru: Actress Katrina Kaif on Tuesday visited Kukke Subrahmanya Temple in Dakshina Kannada.
The actress who was accompanied by three members of her family took part in the Sarpa Samskara pooja.
Confirming the same, Temple Executive Officer Aravinda Ayyappa told DH that she will stay back in Subrahmanya and will take part in Ashlesha Bali and Naga Prathishte ritual on Wednesday.
Sarpa Samskara chief priest Nanda Kishor, Kriyakatr Sudheer Bhat performed the rituals of Sarpa Samskara on the first day.
Katrina had arrived in a car at the temple from the guest house and was wearing a mask and covered her head with a dupatta. Even while taking part in rituals, she continued to wear masks, sources said.
After the prasadam at the VIP bhojana shale, Katrina left the venue along with women police personnel.
The temple, located about 105 km from Mangaluru, is famous for ‘Sarpa Samskara’ to get rid of sarpa dosha (the serpent curse).
Cricketers such as Sachin Tendulkar and Venkatesh Prasad; Bollywood stars Rishi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Shilpa Shetty and High Court and Supreme Court judges in the past have performed Sarpa Samskara at the temple.
