The villagers of Addagudde in Oorubage gram panchayat have decided to withdraw their decision of boycotting polls. A team led by Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer and SVEEP Chairperson Karunakar visited the residents of Addagudde on Wednesday and succeeded in convincing them to exercise their franchise.

Though MLC Motamma visited the village on Wednesday morning and tried to convince the villagers to withdraw their decision, it turned futile.

The villagers did not react positively to her request. But, when the ZP CEO visited the village, the villagers explained him the problems and their demands. The CEO promised of making an arrangement to supply drinking water within three days and also of taking steps to construct a bridge to the village at the earliest.

Till then, the foot bridge will be repaired and made available for use. He also promised of trying his best to get an anganawadi sanctioned to the village.

The villagers accepted his assurance and have agreed vote. However, they have warned of staging an indefinite strike in front of the Zilla Panchayat office if the authorities fail to construct a bridge in the village.
