Additional Advocate General (AAG) K M Nataraj resigned from his post on Saturday. He tendered his resignation to Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar.
Appointed as AAG in 2009, Nataraj had offered to quit two months ago. However, the government had refused to accept his resignation and had persuaded him to continue for some more time.
Having worked with three chief ministers, B S Yeddyurappa, D V Sadananda Gowda and Jagadish Shettar, he had successfully appeared for the government in the court in several cases.
Some of his prominent cases are the malnutrition petition, a PIL seeking to eradicate malnutrition in the State, closure of Kannada schools, the recent case of Child Marriage Act, the Made Snana case, the supersession of the Belgaum Corporation and others.
