"If a police officer writes a letter to the chief secretary, can that be considered a rebellion of IPS officers?" Chief Minister Siddaramaiah asked scribes who quizzed him in Kudalasangama, Bagalkot district on Monday.  He was conversing with reporters at the Hungund helipad.

"I have no idea what is in the letter that the officer wrote to the chief secretary. But I can assure you there is no (Congress) minister's or MLA's interference in the daily functioning of government officers," he said.

The CM offered the above explanation in light of the letter to the chief secretary sent by Karnataka IPS Officers' Association president and Additional Director General of Police R P Sharma alleging  'political interference' in the functioning of the police force.
