The bus corporations issued the clarification amid uncertainty over the indefinite strike called by employees’ unions over demands related to arrears’ payment and pay raise.  The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) said it operated 6,218 bus services, as against the target of 6,200.

The KSRTC said 6,171 out of the 6,333 services operated as of 9 pm on Monday, with strike rate of 97.4%.  Only Hassan division operated less than 90% of bus services. Of the 470 buses scheduled as of 9 pm, 311 were deployed, it said.
