Bengaluru: Indian technology conglomerate Advance Mechanical Services Pvt Ltd (AMS-India) has signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Israel's Xtend AI to co-design, develop, manufacture, and deploy autonomous robots in hospitals and clinics.
This partnership is part of a bilateral R&D and manufacturing initiative supported by the Government of Israel and the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM).
"This partnership between Xtend AI and AMS-India marks a significant step towards transforming Karnataka's healthcare ecosystem through cutting-edge robotics. By leveraging technology and innovation, we are committed to enhancing healthcare accessibility, especially in underserved areas,” Priyank Kharge, Karnataka’s IT-BT Minister, said.
He added that the collaboration would create high-skilled jobs and strengthen Karnataka’s position as a leader in digital health and medical robotics.
Xtend AI Inc CEO Harry Fox noted that the company's service robots and telemedicine kiosks could help the state address gaps in healthcare services.
The collaboration will also focus on medical training and skill development, infection control and pandemic preparedness, and integration with smart urban infrastructure.
As part of this initiative, the delegation met with Manoj Kumar HV, Director and Dean of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College and Research Institute, to discuss a pilot project aimed at improving registration, pre-discharge procedures, and casualty management at Bowring Hospital.
The partnership’s next phase includes additional pilot projects featuring robotic nurse-assistant units and telemedicine kiosks in both rural districts and urban hospitals, with plans to scale across the state.
