Anitha Kumaraswamy, wife of Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, who will contest the Ramnagara bypoll, arrived at Dharmasthala and offered Shatharudrabhisheka to the reigning deity. She placed her ‘B-form’ before the deity and sought blessings.

Anitha Kumaraswamy met Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade, and sought his blessings.

Speaking to the media, she said that she would file her nomination on October 15 and expressed confidence in winning the election. Rebel Congress candidate Iqbal would not contest in Ramanagara, she clarified.

"There is no rebellion in the Congress. Wait and watch. D K Shivakumar and his brother D K Suresh will solve all the issues," she added.

She said that the coalition government would not be affected by the resignation of former Minister Sa Ra Mahesh. "He resigned, but continues to support the chief minister," she added. From Dharmasthala, she left for Sringeri by helicopter.

Her husband and Chief Minister of Karnataka HD Kumaraswamy has visited nearly 60 temples and religious centres since May 24, after he took over the office.
