Kalaburagi: The AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge said that the appointment of Pradesh Congress Committee presidents (PCC) in few states would happen in next 2-3 days. Responding to the media persons about appointment of new KPCC president, the Congress leader said that it is not possible to tell specifically about Karnataka and new chiefs would be appointed one by one.
"We have appointed the president of the Odisha Pradesh Congress unit. Steps will be taken to appoint party presidents for 2-3 states soon. Appointments will also be made for office-bearers of various cells and department in the party in some states. I cannot tell specifically about Karnataka as there is a room for twisting of the developments," he said.
Stating that there is no need to give much importance to the various senior Congress leaders of the state holding meeting with him, he said that the speculations over it would cause disturbance to the smooth functioning of the government apart from creating confusion among the party leaders.
Criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his claim that his talks with US president Donald Trump would become fruitful, he said that Modi has developed the habit of telling lies about his friendship with Trump.
"Our Prime Minister was not given an invitation to visit the United States. Modi has kept saying that he can solve any problem with the US due to his close friendship with that nation. Why are they deporting Indians if Trump really listens to Modi. Why were they sending Indian citizens on a goods flight instead of a regular passenger flight?" he asked.
Stating that the United State would have retained Indian citizens until we made arrangements for the passenger flights if Modi had good friendship with Trump, the Congress leader said that there wouldn't be any positive outcome from the Trump meeting, who has already threatened several countries to increase tariffs on the imports to his country.
