Bengaluru: A 29-year-old man from Khanapur, Belagavi, was killed when an Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus ran over him near Kempegowda Bus Station’s Terminal 3 on Monday night.

According to the police, at around 7:15 pm, the deceased, identified as Bhushan Patil, was crossing the road near the bus terminal entrance when the speeding APSRTC bus (AP-04-Z-0208) turned into the terminal. The driver, who did not see Bhushan, struck him, causing severe head injuries that left him unconscious.

He was rushed to a private hospital in Chickpet, where he was pronounced dead.

Chamarajapet traffic police have detained the driver and filed a case against him. Additional details about Bhushan, including his occupation and residence in Bengaluru, are pending as police await the arrival of his parents from Khanapur.
