Seeking divine intervention: Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa at Sri Dodda Ganesha temple in Bangalore on Saturday. KPN

Accompanied by Home Minister V S Acharya and former minister Ramachandra Gowda, Yeddyurappa began his day on Saturday visiting temples in Bangalore.

He offered pooja at Dodda Ganesha temple in Basavanagudi, Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy temple in Balepet and Gali Anjaneya temple on Mysore Road. Clad in his usual white trouser and shirt, he performed coconut-breaking ritual (‘eedugai’).

The chief minister said: “I am not visiting temples to save my chair. I am praying the god for an end to the political imbroglio in the interest of welfare of the public.” He said he had made up his mind to change his style of functioning so that nobody in the party should feel left out in the administration. He exuded confidence about proving majority on Monday and that his government will complete the term.
