Speaking to the media persons here on Wednesday, student convener of the fest R Srikanth informed that students from top 30 Indian B schools (including all the IIMs, ISB, XLRI and SP Jain) and one international student from a B school in UK are participating in Atharva.
India’s leading strategist in crisis management Prof Nandini Vaidyanathan, will be the chief guest for the inaugural ceremony.
The flagship event of Atharva, ‘Hungama’s Quiz on the Beach’ is India’s only quizzing event for Corporates held on a beach. Set against the backdrop of the lighthouse in Kaup beach QOTB ensures a unique quizzing experience. The Quiz Master is Avinash Mudaliar from ‘Infotainer,’ he added. The winning team will be presented with a prize money of Rs 40,000. The other major event of Atharva, ‘Young Business Leader’ will witness participation from 15 B-Schools, including one international participant. Spread over three days, the event aims to recognise the skills, talents, qualities, abilities and attitudes that are the prerequisites of a Business Leader. The winner will walk away with prize money worth Rs1 lakh, Srikanth said.
The most awaited event of this year’s fest is Polemic - a corporate debate on ‘Price war in the telecom industry’. This debate will be moderated by Harish Bijoor, a faculty at Indian School of Business. Eminent personalities like Airtel South Hub COO Hemant Dadlani, BSNL, Karnataka Marketing General Manager N Chandra Sekhara, Cellular Operators Association of India Deputy Director General T R Dua are expected to take part in the event.
Atharva team is also conducting Sankalp (B plan formulation event) to promote entrepreneurial spirit, he added.
