Vehicular traffic was disrupted for a while as the auto drivers went in procession along with their vehicles and staged a dharna in Mekke circle. The protesters demanded to drop the regulation stipulating pass in eighth standard as the minimum qualification for auto drivers, a separate group housing and group pension scheme and steps to ensure that police behave politely with auto drivers.
State president of the Association Mohammed Abbas and working president K V Suresh Kumar took part.
