A school student was killed and seven other students were injured after the autorickshaw in which they were travelling, toppled near Bedasur (M) Tanda in Chittapur taluk on Tuesday.
The deceased is identified as Arun Sanjeevkumar Chavan, 13, a resident of Bedasur (M) Tanda and Class VII student.
The injured students have been admitted to PHC in Aranakal in Kalagi taluk.
The auto was ferrying the school children. The driver, however, fled the spot. A case has been registered by Kalagi police station.
