The decorated vehicles were lined up for Ayudha Pooja celebrations at Gandhi Maidan in Madikeri on Saturday night.
While vehicles were specially decorated for the Pooja, almost all homes, shops, workshops, commercial complexes and offices offered prayers. A number of associations had organised various contests while a few associations organised entertainment programmes in the evening.
The Dasara Samithi had organised special programmes in Madikeri wherein a ‘decoration contest’ was organised for shops as well as vehicles. Later, a vehicle procession was taken out in all the streets of the town. The prize distribution for best decorated vehicles was given away at the end of the programme.
