Bishop Fr Peter Paul Saldanha said ‘Bandhutva’, an initiative for realising harmony in the society, will work on the principle of "synodality" (with everyone listening to each other and learning from each other).

The Bishop outlined his vision at a programme organised in Sandesha Foundation on Wednesday.

The principle of synodality is working together for the betterment of human beings, he said.

“Decision makers from different spheres and different religions came under one single roof. More than 125 people from different walks of life, had expressed their willingness to be a part of this initiative. Through Bandhutva, a social movement will be launched to propagate humanity,” the Bishop stressed.

He said he will meet people and seek their opinions towards making Bandhutva initiative successful. “ Ideas will be generated in the periphery. We hope to start from the ward level and expand it parish, diocese, regional, national, continental and universal level to make the initiative a qualitative reality, he stressed.

He appealed to media persons to highlight humanity.

“The media should avoid sensationalisation and should propagate the truth. Truth hurts. But it is necessary to awaken the dead conscience,” Bishop Fr Paul said and urged honest people to keep themselves away from destructive elements.
