Reminding everyone that the Congress had increased the price of milk thrice since coming to power, Ashoka pointed out that, collectively, these hikes had pushed the price of one litre of milk up by Rs 9. “This government is looting the people,” fumed Ashoka.

The LoP opined that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah ought to have announced the hike in his budget speech. “Price hike and imposition of taxes are hidden motives of the Congress. If the government is not bankrupt, why has the price of milk, and other essential commodities been increased,” asked Ashoka. Despite demands from stakeholders for a hike in the bus fare, dating back to 2010, the BJP refused to do so, said Ashoka. “But our government did not increase the ticket prices,” he added.
