Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday lashed out at three Srirama Sene activists for allegedly poisoning drinking water in a school in Belagavi to get the headteacher, a Muslim, transferred.
Siddaramaiah was referring to the arrest of three individuals, including Sriram Sene taluk president Sagar Patil, for allegedly poisoning drinking water at a government school in Hoolikatti Village, Saundatti Taluk of Belagavi, leading to the hospitalisation of 11 children.
In a post on X, Siddaramaiah said: “This incident, which could’ve led to the massacre of kids, is an example to demonstrate that religious fundamentalism and communal hatred can lead to the worst crimes. All sorts of communalism and fundamentalism are dangerous to society.”
Lashing out at the BJP and the Sangh Parivar, the chief minister asked: “Will Pramod Mutalik bear the responsibility for the incident? Will Vijayendra bear it? Let those leaders supporting such anti-social acts repent for their sins.”
