Both got 620 out of a possible 625 marks. Daughter of Grameena Bank employee H Malla Reddy, Nalini dreams of becoming a doctor.

“I believed that studying for six hours a day will get me good marks,” she told Deccan Herald.

“My sister Rajeshwari too was a student of my school and she had got 95 per cent marks. Thus, the atmosphere at home was conducive for my good performance. My parents and teachers provided me good guidance,” Nalini says.

Her classmate J Vishal too got 620 out of the maximum 625 marks, topping the State, along with Nalini.

No tuitions

Neither took private tuitions. Both believed that studying at home and following the tips given by teachers were enough to score well.

Vishal, who studied for two hours a day, wants to become doctors like his father, Dr Shanker of Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS).

'I am happy I did well. I would not have been able to perform so well without the guidance and support of my parents and tachers,”he told Deccan Herald.
