10 arrested, murder bid foiled

The arrested are N Ravi Kumar, 29, Vidyaranyapura; M K Ruthuprasad, 27, Malleswaram; A Rizwan Pasha, 26, Nagaraj, 22, Muralidhar, 24, all from Kanakapura Main Road; G Shekhar, 27, Rangadasappa Layout; Avinash, 23, Chamarajpet; Ramesh, 32, Kaggalipura; Satish, 26, Upparalli and Venkatesh, 20, Chikkamavalli.

Tipped off, the police arrested them on the road between Rayasandra and Amrutha College and seized lethal weapons, nine cellphones and two four-wheelers.

They had allegedly plotted to murder Lokesh, their rival gang member and his associates and commit dacoity.

On Korangu Krishna’s directions, the suspects allegedly abducted Afsar Pasha, a scrap dealer from Anjanapura for ransom.

However, Talaghattapura police rescued Pasha. They threw stones at the police vehicles outside Central Prisons, Parappana Agrahara and staged a protest a day before Korangu was shifted to Bellary jail.

Ruthuprasad was close aide of Korangu. He extorted money from citizens and managed financial affairs of Korangu. He was wanted in three dacoity cases.

Gali Ravi is a rowdy-sheeter with Vidyaranyapura police and is allegedly involved in two murders, an attempt to murder, an assault and four attempts to commit dacoities.

Rizwan is a rowdy-sheeter with Siddapur police and is allegedly involved in a murder, an abduction, two attempts to murder and four attempts to commit dacoities.
