Authorities suspect the boy died by suicide while his parents were at work.

The police said the incident occurred on Monday evening when the boy was at home with his nine-year-old sister. The two siblings had returned home after attending school that day.

The boy’s body was discovered by his mother around 6 pm when she returned from work at a garment unit and heard her daughter screaming. The Class 7 student was found hanging in the hall. His parents rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.

"The parents mention that they had scolded him two days ago over phone usage, but it is too early to rule this out as the cause of death. We are investigating the case,” an officer stated.

An Unnatural Death Report (UDR) has been registered in connection with the incident.
